FOR CANDIDATES
You may be ready to move, considering a different field, or interested in what your experience could lead to. The proposed process gives you control over who gets access.
Record the work you actually do, the tools you use and the roles you would consider. Add location, working arrangements and other preferences that affect your decision.
Check your profile before it is available for discovery. Your name and contact details will be withheld. You will also need to review experience details that could identify you.
See which employer wants an introduction. Decide whether that employer can access your identity and contact details. Joining will not give all employers access.
FOR HIRING TEAMS & FOUNDERS
A job title rarely tells you whether someone has the relevant technical experience, wants the work or can make the location work.
QuietMoves is being developed to give in-house teams a more useful starting point for those conversations.
Skills, tools and application experience in context, with candidate statements distinguished from independently checked claims.
An FPGA engineer's experience may be relevant across quantum, communications and electronic warfare. The application matters alongside the title.
The longer-term aim is to help founders and hiring teams understand the availability and requirements of specialist talent as they plan delivery and growth.
WHY WE'RE BUILDING THIS
The UK and its allies are increasing their commitments to defence and industrial capacity. Employers will need people with the experience to develop, build and maintain that capability.
Those skills are also needed in civilian industries. We want to make relevant opportunities easier to find, including routes into defence from other technical fields.
The layer that enables talent to move discreetly.
The UK’s October 2026 Budget sets a target of 3% of GDP for defence in 2030 and a commitment to 3.5% by 2035. NATO’s 2035 commitment combines at least 3.5% for core defence with up to 1.5% for broader defence and security investment.
